Does Anyone Even Look at this Blog...

... Not even I do. I haven't been on here since October.
Here's a shot I love of Rohan Annersley taken months back on the last swell of 2012.

The Beauty of Life...

How life changes and so very quickly! It seems like only yesterday that Jaq stood next to me whilst I was editing photos and casually asked "How do you feel about being a daddy?"
Here I am now posting photos of my beautiful wife and our son to be with only a matter of weeks before we welcome him into the world.
Earlier this week we rushed down to our local beach only 10 minutes before sunset and I casually snapped some of the proudest photos I have ever taken!

Minutes with Mitch...

... the below 4 images were shot in just a matter of minutes with Mitch Taylor. Bottom Turn, Barrel, Punt and a Beating, what more do you need!

Around Ole Manly Town...

These images were kept aside for a little article on Swellnet, but certain circumstances led to them never gracing the web. So here they are, from a few weeks back now, one of the best swells to hit Manly all Winter and I just happened to be in town with a few friends.

My Left Fin...

... Perth has been, by it's own standards, absolutely pumping over the last few weeks.
And whilst it's rare to shoot anything locally worthy of magazine acceptance, it sure as hell is good enough to shoot photos of your mates pulling into the best waves the area has to offer!
Chris "Swiv" Jones and I scored this local beachie with no one else out two mornings in a row. Pristine conditions, good company, gut busting laughs and all it cost us was one left fin!
Now you'll never see these shots on the cover of ASL or Waves, but there's a good chance you'll find them hanging on Swiv's lounge room wall, and that to me, is far more rewarding!

Movement Issue 39 | Mitch Rawlins COVER...

... as a photographer, the pinnacle of respect for your work is when a magazine calls you to let you know that they have placed your image as the face of their next issue.
After years of shooting, this shot of Mitch Rawlins on the front of Issue 39 of Movement Bodyboard Magazine is my very first cover.
I was as proud as punch, but even prouder that I had 6 more double page spreads within the issue.
Below are the featured images of Mitch, Brad Hughes, James Purvis, Scott Rigby and Brendon Backshall...

Light and Texture...

... so the last 3 days in Perth have been dead set pumping, well, on a Perth scale they've been 9/10! So rather than chase people down to shoot with, I decided a bit of Urban Solitude was on the cards. So each morning and each evening i've made my way to my favourite spot in the metro area and did what I've never really done... Shot what I wanted to shoot on my own terms.
The results for me were so satisfying that it's made me completely re-think the way I approach my photography! Now, I can't show you the best of the last few days, but what I can give you is a little sneak peak at what my brain was thinking and my eyes have seen the last few days.
I hope you enjoy the entree, I plan to serve the main course in good time!
